The wind statistics make of Dakhla an internationally famous spot where pro-riders come to train.
You navigate in a shallow and clear water at 19° in the winter and 28° in the summer.
At high tide the water is at 5 meters from the local storage of your equipment. At low tide you cannot walk but use the dinghy!! For beginners you only have to move 1000 m to the east to touch the bottom again.
Slippers are strongly recommended because of our friends, the razor shells, that are always keen on lacerating our feet.
Between the mountains of the Eagle and the barter dune a prevailing north-east wind blows regularly and evenly – between 15 and 35 kts: the Venturi effect is stunning!!
The Dakhla-lagoon offers multiple and various spots in a wildlife zone.
Run by our friend Hamada Titi, you will meet a colourful character who’s mind is 100 % free-ride! Hamada is the first rider of Dakhla, pro-rider and graduated IKO (International Kiteboarding Organization). Fabien, 37 years, French, who lives in Morocco for 30 years is an internationally famous IKO-instructor who is not longer presented at Dakhla. He also managed a sailing school for 6 years. From 7 to 77 years, both will make you like to the power of 10 to learn the kite if not already done!!
The objectives of the school:
Depending on your level we can suggest you the down wind of the secret spot.
Foum Labouir is the jewel of spots wave! With a glassy right, whatever the wind carries, it unrolls for 500 m. The wind comes in side on at 7kts less than in the lagoon (kitesurfing, windsurfing, surfing).
